Doctor Glenn Litbeit might come across young and relaxed but don’t let his appearance fool you. Glenn is a great doctor and he’ll need his skills to help his cliental. Why you might ask? Simple, Glenn’s patients aren’t ordinary humans but monsters who have human-like characteristics. Glenn will need to also survive the battle to save lives but against a gaggle of monster girls who want to perform a thorough examination of the good doctor themselves. Today we'll be going more in-depth into the story of the Monster Girl Doctor!
Monster Girl Doctor isn’t going to attract anime viewers with a strong and compelling story or solid animation. What most viewers will want to see from this series is the large cast of beautiful—and well endowed—monster girls such as Saphentite, Arahnia, and Tisalia. Yes, these girls might be half-human and half-monster but like a similar series—called Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls—these girls are all potential waifu just waiting to be loved.
Monster Girl Doctor isn’t going to become renowned for being the next amazing anime series but that’s perfectly fine, to be honest. Many fans will be happy with this harem-like show thanks to the gratuitous amount of fan service to be found. Large oppai, plenty of awkward comedy moments, and the overly-used groping theme can be found numerous times in Monster Girl Doctor.
The only thing we can say that was done smartly with these cliché tropes is that they make sense seeing as how Glenn is a doctor. When Glenn feels up a cowgirl monster or ropes one up, Glenn is doing these actions for various examinations. So it might come across eye-roll-worthy but at least Monster Girl Doctor created a good job so our main man can enjoy some truly gorgeous monster girls.
Monster Girl Doctor is at its best when it utilizes the harem elements we love to see in anime like this. Seeing the various monster girls vie for Glenn’s attention does get a bit dull but the comedic moments from their actions are quite solid. Sapphee—the main Lamia of the series—wins the award for some of the best comedy though as her reactions to Glenn’s girl problems are quite amusing. Monster Girl Doctor can’t hold a candle to other harem anime like it but we will say we enjoyed the humor more often than not.
As much as we adored the monster girl madness from this series, Monster Girl Doctor can get a bit repetitive. Seeing Glenn overrun by girls is an almost constant joke and it begins to just make the eyes naturally roll with annoyance. Yes, we did laugh when a group of harpies wanted Glenn to brush their wings but when Glenn’s face gets constantly slammed into amazing oppai, it can be irritating. Expect Monster Girl Doctor to be a series you won’t feel too bad when it ends as you begin to quickly get tired of its overused tropes.
There’s not much to really examine about Monster Girl Doctor. This is a series that aims to deliver ecchi and perverted comedy for those who love that sort of thing. If you liked Monster Musume or other shows like that, then Monster Girl Doctor is a perfectly enjoyable series. However, if you’re more into harem stories with some romance elements or fewer cliché themes then you’re not going to find that here. Monster Girl Doctor is all about oppai and ecchi so don’t come looking for much else.
